Universal Call to Holiness: How we Created a Custom Relief Sculpture for Franciscan University

Recently, the team at Baker Architects installed the first panel for our "Universal Call to Holiness", a concrete relief sculpture for the University of Franciscan Steubenville.

Crafted from concrete poured into a custom silicone mold, this piece was entirely designed and fabricated in-house. Every detail was shaped with intention — from the concept drawings to the final casting. The texture, weight, and materiality of the piece are grounded and raw, speaking to the dignity of the human vocation to holiness in the everyday world.

The piece started originally as a 3D model which we cut out of foam and used to create our silicone mold.
