At Baker Architects, our work in sacred architecture goes beyond just building spaces — it’s about bringing theology to life through thoughtful design. Our recent project, Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Helena Montana, is a great example of how our process blends tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship to serve the Catholic community.

Designing with Purpose
Before a single piece of furniture was built or installed, we began — as we always do — with design rooted in Catholic theology. Every element had a liturgical purpose, and every decision was made with reverence for the sacred. But what sets us apart is how we execute that vision.
We don’t just work in 2D drawings; we design entirely in 3D. Why? Because the Church lives and breathes in three dimensions — from the sanctuary to the pews to the placement of a presider’s chair. Our immersive 3D modeling process allows the entire team — architects, clergy, and stakeholders — to visualize the space as it will truly be experienced. The result? Fewer surprises, clearer communication, and smarter decision-making from the very beginning.

Installing the Furnishings
Once designs were finalized, fabrication began. Our team coordinated every detail — from liturgical furnishings like the altar, ambo, and tabernacle stand, to seating and cabinetry. Because our drawings are generated directly from the 3D model, the installation process was smooth and precise.
At Cyril and Methodius, the final result is a space that is not only beautiful but deeply aligned with the Church’s mission. The new furnishings elevate the liturgical experience, honor sacred traditions, and create a space that will serve generations to come.
Let’s Work Together
Projects like this are why we do what we do. If you're considering a renovation or new construction for your parish, we’d love to show you how our process works. In fact, we’d be happy to walk you through a live 3D design session — no commitment, just a chance to see how we think and how we work.
Designing for the Church is a sacred calling, and we’re honored to walk this path with pastors, parishioners, and communities nationwide.
