Principal Architect

Tel: 303-358-1108

Steve is a licensed architect with over 19 years of experience designing worship spaces, building liturgical furnishings, and creating stunning architectural visualizations. His strengths are in not only understanding the theology and symbolism of Catholics sacred architecture but also in providing a clear vision for parish construction projects from initial parish-wide consensus building to overseeing the implementation of that idea through construction. Over the past nineteen years, Stephen has designed, managed, coordinated, and provided architectural vision to many parish projects across the nation.

He is a currently working towards his Ph.D. in Design and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver. His research is:

UNFOLDING THE ENFOLDED: THE COINCIDENCE OF THE LUMINOUS AND THE NUMINOUS IN THE AESTHETIC APPRECIATION OF CATHOLIC SACRED ARCHITECTURE.

It involves an analysis and of the relationship between Catholic sacred architectural expression and Nicholas of Cusa's notion of the coincidence of opposites as an analytical device for understanding how Catholic sacred architecture means. Not only does it document the architectural patterns that endure in Catholic churches, but, more importantly, it seeks to understand why they endure.

Michael Sanchez  has over 25 years experience in architectural illustration and design. He uses a hand drawn approach to create visual imagery of a project appropriate to any stage of the design process. This tool has proven to be effective in communicating a concept early on, which helps the client become more involved in critical design decisions.  Michael has worked closely with the Catholic church for over a decade, employing  the use of renderings to help make the project as successful as possible and to assist in the fundraising process. With his understanding of architecture and his seasoned artistic skills, Mr. Sanchez has demonstrated to be a valuable part of any design team.
