Almost four years after its initial announcement, Diablo Immortal is finally getting ready for a full release. Initially planned as a mobile title, Diablo Immortal pivoted along the way, and the developers decided to make the game available on PC as well.
The announcement of the new PC version came during Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal livestream, where game director Wyatt Cheng revealed a few new things about the game. The new PC version will support controllers, mouse and keyboard, and even a new WASD control scheme. The game will also feature cross-save, as well as cross-play, which allows players to close their PC game and instantly jump into the same character on their phones.
Players who start Diablo Immortal on PC will need to sign into their existing Battle.net account, or create a new account; on the other side, players who start Diablo Immortal on mobile can sign into their Battle.net account or go with a supplied guest account. That said, only those with a Battle.net account can seamlessly transfer progression on either platform by logging into their account (and most likely, logging out appropriately where necessary).
The game will make its PC debut with a new input method, the WASD, which allows players to move their characters with the traditional directional hotkeys. Diablo Immortal will also support controller and mouse/keyboard inputs.
Diablo Immortal will feature a similar structure to previous Diablo games and all the features fans expect. The game will include a main story quest that moves through eight different zones. The story will take place between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, and of course Deckard Cain will have a huge role to play.
